Ta-da! This weekend we traveled back home to Texas Tech to watch Jason cross the stage and officially become 'Dr. No". We made a stop along the way in Abilene. We stayed with April and Dustin where Madalyn had the opportunity to play with her buddies Brooklyn and Brayden. That evening we got to catch up with friends from grad school - Mel and Liz came down from Nashville!!! I haven't seen them in about 2 years - I've gained and lost around 40 pounds since our last visit ;-) FYI - Liz's hair is long and Mel's hair is short now. How things change. And Kathryn came all the way from Louisiana, too. It is so easy to remember what an amazing provider of support and friendship God is when you reconnect with your sisters in Christ and it's as if nothing as changed.
Then up to Lubbock! By the way, Madalyn - angel baby - slept almost the entire time we were in the car, both trips. We may pay for this with baby #2. Despite all this sleep, Madalyn and Natalie were both in matching 'pjs' with their best monkeys ready for their afternoon nap. Can you say 'photo op'? And we had so much fun spending the weekend at the Nathan and Amy-Rose's.
So - the big graduation ceremony arrived and John McCain spoke as rumored! Pre-John McCain speech, I experienced baby spit up in my face. That's right! Madalyn got me, got me good. It was pretty funny. Here's the Northrups out in full force for the graduation, with Nathan and LynnAnne and Kathryn, too:
Saturday morning, Marsha hostessed a wonderful party to celebrate! There's going to be a slideshow for that one. We had such a nice time getting to catch up with friends and family! And we also leared that we'll be an uncle and aunt come August 09 - Deliahna is expecting!! Maddie is going to have a cousin :-)
So I'm not sure this photo really captures it, but we got to say goodbye to a brown Lubbock skyline Sunday afternoon. It was only a small dust storm, but it brought some good sized tumble weeds into town with it. Nothing like Lubbock!
Hope you enjoyed this weekend in pictures :-)
