Summertime!

I've come to a conclusion - the irritating, uncomfortable, uner-my-skin feeling I've been getting lately is 'hot' - but a different kind of hot than I'm used to. Humidity. My initial response was to go into a summertime hibernation according to my upbringing in Arizona. But recently it occurred to me that Madalyn could go swimming. So we did :-) (well - wading).
Madalyn's first experience with her pool involved her putting her hands in the water, and then promptly drying them on my knee. She went through this process several times, succeeding in keeping my knee nice and cool :-)
Eventually she did walk around in the water, but she must have concluded that the water was too cool to sit down in :-)
The last photo is Madalyn playing the 'where is it?' game in the sandbox. We played this game yesterday with a stick. We hid it under a sand toy and said 'where is it?' and then Madalyn found it. Madalyn recreated this fun independently today, and without the stick :-)
Happy summer!

KID! Her bathing suit is the cutest thing EVER! That little girl has such style-thanks to her stylish Mommy! You bring that swimsuit, we go swimming in my parents pool (or stick our hands in their pool and wipe them on your knee-whichever) in a few weeks!
