Howl-oween

Today the family participated in the Howl-oween event at the park, in which dog owners humiliate their unsuspecting pets by dressing them up and parading them around other dog owners. PETA has put out a warning based on the cruel treatment of these dogs.

There are prizes given for the best costumes and Kirsten really wanted to win this year. Alas it was not meant to be. I tried to prepare her for this as best I could ahead of time. We dressed our dog Dallas up in Texas Tech gear and we wore TT t-shirts. Kirsten's cousins Kendra and Kayla also dressed accordingly, and Madalyn wore a TT cheerleader's outfit. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure that many hard-core TT fans show their spirit far more creatively and elaborately, even on non-Halloween events. Now if we had all painted GO TECH on our chests, we might have had a chance, but we were pretty average-looking Tech fans. Compared to the other costumes like pirates, bumblebees, and pumpkins, we just didn't have what it took.

Kirsten was very disappointed, but vows to up our game next year (assuming Temple has a similar event).

Here are Dallas and Madalyn dressed up. Madalyn is in a borrowed cheer costume, and Dallas's football jersey has the double T on the back.
