Spinach: turns out it's easy to grow! I did plant the seeds according to package directions in late summer - but when the cold came and the tomatoes didn't make it, I just figured the spinach was shot, too. Now, it did look green, and it did look like spinach - but it still took two people on separate occasions mentioning to me that it looked ready to harvest for me to take action.
Today Madalyn and I picked the leaves from the plants I felt most confident Dallas hadn't peed on and brought them inside for a thorough washing (because I can't be sure where Dallas pees all the time). Then I made a casserole! The casserole wasn't fantastic - but that wasn't the spinach's fault.
