Madalyn's 4th birthday party went really well!! It looked much cuter than I expected - which is a fun bonus :-) The best part was how much fun Madalyn had and how I just seem to love every minute of her on her birthday in a deeper way. I should do that more often :-)
We opened family gifts after the party and every one was a hit. She was especially excited about the suitcase from Nana and Popa - glad we got that on videotape! She enjoyed playing the 'Angelina Ballerina Dance Moves' game and was all about her Tiana Castle playset.

From the get-go she was all about her 'Storytime Cottage'. It's not the first time we've had it set up, but something about it was more special today than other days. The reading of 'Olivia's Missing Toy' and the search for the toy in her bedroom was a hit! The kids enjoyed that (Jason had hidden pictures of the toy around the room and when they found them they traded them in for a prize bookmark). Cupcakes did not look quite pinterest-worthy but were edible. And Madalyn was super polite and thankful when opening gifts. And obviously, the favor of library book bags was brilliantly received! Thanks Mom!
She and Adelay ran off some energy outside in our 70 degree weather and we finished up with dinner on the creek at Coronas, where she got sung to! She took the attention very seriously and did not crack a smile ;-)
Happy Birthday to my sweet little girl. Love you and the prayerful little lady you're becoming :-)

KID-wearing a giant sombrero on your head and realizing that you have aged to a whole four years is quite a solemn act.
